Troubleshooting & good to know

A short list of the things that occasionally trip people up, and the quick fix for each.

Claude says it can't create or find my base

Almost always an Airtable permission that was granted too narrowly. Go to Connect Airtable, reconnect, and grant your whole workspace with permission to create bases — not a single existing base. Then ask Claude to set up your base again. If the base exists but Claude can't find it, make sure it's still named Pool Service, or tell Claude its exact name.

A charge, invoice, or email asked me to confirm first

That's intentional, not a glitch. Every time money moves or an email goes out, Claude shows you the plan and waits for your yes. It will never charge a card or send a message silently.

The “Create skill” upload option is greyed out

Open Settings → Capabilities and turn on “Code execution and file creation.” Then go back to Install the skill and upload again. You only do this once.

I couldn't add a second connector on the free plan

The free Claude plan allows only one connected tool. Since you'll connect Airtable, Stripe, and maybe Gmail, you need Claude Pro or higher. See Before you start.

I run two businesses

One Claude login connects to one Stripe account. For now, use a separate Claude login for each business so their billing stays cleanly apart.

A photo didn't attach to a visit

Photos need to be reachable by a web link. A picture pasted straight into chat may not carry through to the record. The visit still saves — Claude will tell you the photo needs adding in Airtable directly, or share the photo as a link and it'll attach.

I renamed a field or changed the structure in Airtable

The skills look things up by name, so a small rename usually just works. But renaming a whole table, or changing the preset options on a field, can break a save. Safest is to leave the structure your setup built in place; if you need a change, tell Claude and let it adjust the structure for you.

Nothing sends because Gmail isn't connected

That's expected — Gmail is optional. Either connect it, or just copy, text, or print the report or reminder yourself. Nothing is blocked.

A reading looked wrong and Claude asked me to double-check

The skills flag values that look like a slip (say, a chlorine reading of 15 where 1.5 was meant) rather than storing something wild. Confirm the real number and it'll log it.

Still stuck?

Because everything runs in your own accounts, the fix is usually a reconnection or a rename — not something on our end. Re-read the relevant step, and remember you can always just ask Claude what it needs; it explains itself in plain terms.
